Founded in 2015, hash.peace is a youth-led advocacy group interested in developing effective programs for sustainable social harmony. It is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act in Singapore (UEN number T21SS0101F).

MISSION

  • Advocate racial and religious unity

  • Build friendships that transcend differences

  • Counter exclusivist and extremist mindsets in the community

  • Develop cultural intelligence and critical thinking programs

  • Establish a support network of peace leaders in Singapore and worldwide

FOCUS AREAS

  • Addressing microaggressions, racial and religious prejudice, and discrimination in workplaces, schools and other shared spaces

  • Creating awareness about racial and religious exclusivist mindsets or behaviour that may create tensions in the society

  • Countering extremist ideologies and self-radicalisation of youths posing a threat to Singapore’s social cohesion

  • Educating about negative stereotyping of racial, religious and non-religious communities that are harmful to peace and unity

Culture, Community and Youth Minister Edwin Tong has called for a partnership between youth advocates, community leaders and the Government to promote social harmony. He was speaking at a forum organised by advocacy group hash.peace.

12 winners have received the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2021, the highest honour for giving to the community. They include Nazhath Faheema, an activist building racial and religious harmony one conversation at a time, as well as David Hoe, a former normal technical student on a mission to help disadvantaged youths find their passion. This year's winners were selected from 315 nominations -- the most since the awards' inception in 2012.

hash.peace Founder Nazhath Faheema featured tribute to individuals and leaders who are making Singapore the City of Good! They are honoured at this year's President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2021, the nation's pinnacle award for giving excellence.

Everyone is welcome to share anything, approved by group moderators which they think will be useful for the knowledge and social action on matters of social harmony in Singapore and around the world.

Become a Member

Becoming a member of hash.peace gives you rights and responsibilities towards the Society’s mission.

Ordinary Membership
This is open to any Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who are 21 years old and above. The one-time application fee is S$50.

Student Membership
This is open to any Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident between 16 years old to 25 years old, who is enrolled in educational institutions formally registered and recognised under the governing laws of any country. The one-time application fee is S$15.

NOTE: Persons who are below 18 years of age shall not be accepted as members of the Society without the written consent of their parent or guardian.
