INTRODUCTION

hash.peace Conversation Series (HPCS) is a series of events that aim to look at the multi-faceted ways in which inter-racial and inter-religious issues affect us. In line with Racial Harmony Day in July, HPCS seeks to build the space for critical conversations about our Racial and Religious Harmony. Through the lens of three differently themed conversations, the inaugural HPCS will explore essential questions, like how racial issues affect our mental well-being, or how should companies enable and roll out racial/religious diversity initiatives in their workplaces. HPCS will also look at building and strengthening our cultural knowledge through learning more about the different communities in Singapore.

Apart from participating in engaging, facilitated sessions, participants will also contribute through ideating and solutioning at the above events under HPCS. At each event, there will be an ideation and solutioning “wish-list” for participants to contribute their thoughts and ideas as they participate in the conversation. Thereafter, the facilitators will discuss with and seek opinions from the participants on the ideas that they wish most to see developed, in order to prioritise the suggestions. These findings and proposed solutions will be consolidated into a report and presented at the final, closing dialogue of HPCS to an invited Guest-of-Honour.

OBJECTIVES

• To encourage and build spaces to explore the different ways in which inter-racial and interreligious issues affect us, and to encourage nuanced conversations about such issues.

• To contribute to racial and religious harmony in Singapore through gathering and encouraging the development of effective and sustainable solutions.

• To involve the business/private sector in the development of conversations and solution development on issues concerning race and religion in Singapore

• To build and deepen our cultural knowledge by learning deeper about the different ethnic communities in Singapore.
